I was in a meeting in Iowa Wednesday night and a few people were participating by conference phone, including one in Los Angeles who¹s a psychically gifted professional psychologist (therapist). A friend held up four fingers and asked the fellow on the phone how many he was holding up. He answered correctly. Then my friend closed his fist and asked how many he was holding up. The fellow on the phone said, ³Your fist is closed.² We were impressed. This guy sees 10 clients a day, 5 days a week, one-hour appointments. Guest guest
I would personally tend to caution one against dabbling in the psychic realm. If advice or clarity is needed I would recommend a good Jyotish reading instead, but most important is always, always, always prayer and meditation.. Guest guest
There are many different kinds of psychics as well as many different attitudes with which one may consult a psychic. Caution against the "psychic realm" seems pretty broad to me. I've known psychics who have been able to provide considerable insight into life patterns and struggles and facilitate more helpful ways of seeing these. Nothing wrong with that, IMHO. Although, this is also something that a good therapist or healer could also do, just over more time and from a somewhat different angle. Sometimes, both can be helpful. Guest guest
Dear Blessed Mahadevan I think there has been a good discussion of psychics and that may or may not be right for you. You will know. But just remember that Amma is always with you and helping you through these difficult times. When you feel the confusion and depression, meditation and mantra are all the harder to do... But they can also have powerful soothing effects at that time, even if you can only do a little bit. My prayers are with you. In Her vaishnovi Ammachi, "mahadevanv" <mahadevanv wrote: > > Om Namah Shivaya! > > Brothers and Sisters, > > I am somewhat getting confused and depressed at times. Guest guest
Namah Shvivaya, Ananthasree from our very own , gave a helpful reading to me. She was feeling sick recently, & so cancelled her appointements. I learned this when I asked if she had any insights about a missing Nile Monitor lizard. She donates her time & energy to give information she might receive about missing animal companions. Maybe she's feeling better by now. She gives so much, & loves Amma. Ananthasree gives readings either via e-mail or phone. Sweta mahadevanv <mahadevanv > wrote: Om Namah Shivaya! Brothers and Sisters, I am somewhat getting confused and depressed at times. Guest guest
Namah Shivayah, I agree that a healthy dose of caution is important. Through Amma's grace, I have been giving readings as my full time career since I was 16 years old. I was born clairaudient and clairvoyant, and this runs back three generations on my Mother's side of the family. Honestly, it is a blessing and a curse. I am thankful that I have been able to help people through my ability, and make a living doing it, but it is also not easy work....it is very taxing emotionally and often physically. Often I will read for 6 months and then take 6 months off (as I am sort of doing now!) I have done countless lectures on the nature of psychic fraud, because I can't tell you the number of clients I have who have such horror stories about getting taken for a ride by "psychics". I talk about some of this on my website at PsychicForecast.com I consider myself an ethical psychic, so this is an issue that I am passionate about. Sweta mentioned I do a lot of work in aiding in the search for missing children and animals. This is true, and I think it is important, if we have this gift, to use it for the greater good.. I would always suggest looking within before seeking external help in the form of a psychic. When giving a reading, many times I find that the information I give my clients simply validates what they already knew or where thinking. Also, we can always go straight to the source of EVERYTHING....the master psychic...our beloved Amma! Guest guest
BRAVO Ananthasree: Very well said, indeed. I am a psychic as well and surrender all to Amma. I have learned that we all travel through the psychic realms towards our blooming in the spiritual divine realms on our conscious spiritual paths. Some people become distracted with different "powers" etc. when they begin to experience the psychic realms and can get lost and harmed etc. That is why following a spiritual path with an enlighted being is so necessary to travel through the multidimentional realms safely. Many Great Spiritual Masters including Amma have discussed not be distracted by the psychic realms. I met you at the last Amma gathering in Michigan. Guest guest
Yes, this is exactly what I was refering to. The psychic realm can be very attractive to the ego, as we can learn a great deal about ourselves and our past and future, reinforcing our identity as individuals. Many times people set out on the spiritual path and just get stuck in the psychic. There are psychics out there with a lot of understanding and integrity (it appears that we have few on this list), but they are diamonds in the rough of the innumerable scam artists out there. The good ones can be recognized by their humility and commitment to service. They really want to help. My husband used to go to Sylvia Browne's gnostic church. He was very involved, and was even training to be a minister there. Sylvia, as you may know, is one of the most acclaimed psychics of our time. She is VERY good, very accurate. But when Jaire started coming to see Amma and she found out, she made my husband chose between her and Amma. Then he really started questioning this woman who charges $5,000 for a 15 minute session. Her teachings are very dark, and all about how to protect onesself from dark forces and entities. She instills a lot of fear in her followers, who feel bound to her because she protects them from all the horrible evil. Conversly, Amma's teachings were all about love. It was an obvious choice. Sometimes we go to give a crystal singing bowls mediation for a Sylvia Brown study group whose members are very sweet, if scared, people. We come for the study group and get to hear a lot about all of the scary stuff people are going through in the psychic realm. It always makes us sad, and we really try to bring in the light for these people, who are mostly elderly ladies. The psychic realm is just above the mental plane, so it can feel much greater to one who is just learning that there is more to this world than meets the eye. But too often seekers get stuck there, not realizing that were they to keep going, they would experience the bliss and light of the spiritual plane. The yogic scriptures talk about the koshas, five sheaths covering the soul, the body-mind-spirit connection. Annamaya kosha is the physical body. Pranamaya kosha is the breath and nervous system. Manomaya kosha is is the mental body. Vijnanamaya kosha is the psychic body, and Anandamaya kosha is the bliss body. Still, note that the bliss-self is still considered a sheath of the Atman, indicating that total yoga is beyond even the state of bliss. Well, I think that's my three or four cents. love, Prajna feelbetterocala (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: BRAVO Ananthasree: Very well said, indeed. I am a psychic as well and surrender all to Amma.
