Guest guest
Dear Shakti sadhakaas, I would like to know the Jyesta devi temple ,location and her Moola mantra . Can some one help me with the details ? Advance thanks, Ram Kalyan Ram <kalyanbadhukripa wrote: Aum Ganapataye Namah Respected sivadancer, Thank you for the stotram. To get correct pronunciation, webmaster of omshreeonline.com was kind enough to send it in sanskrit. My clarification from you sir, 1)Does this also require initiation? I do not have any guru. 2)If it does not,What is the best time to recite it?What else should accompany the recitation. I recite LS and selected verses from Soundarya lahiri in the morning after sandya. Other than that my knowledge is nil. 3)If you think what I am doing is sufficient, I will take your advice. To be frank, I am living alone in a foreign country away from my folks who are at India for my son's education sake. The morning prayers put my mind at ease. I find myself also getting attached to the worship and enjoy it. Guest guest
The Mother Jyestha She is known such since she is the older sister of gaja or samudra lakshmi mother; she is the entire opposite of her younger sister. She lurks in shadows, bestower of misfortunes, causer of fights. Her sadhana is always done in a lonely place with offerings of salt and dried chilly with gingelly seeds. She is similiar in some ways to the Divine mother Dhumvati. One of her bijas is Phrem. Movies - What's on at your local cinema?

Guest guest
Sometimes Jyestha is associated with Kali. In Bengal, the night before Deepavali is Kali Puja night, the darkest night of the year, dedicated to the Elder Sister. Then Deepavali is celebrated next evening, honoring Lakshmi with lamps and fireworks. Jyestha is also associated with the Vedic goddess Nirriti, guardian of the Southwestern direction, Goddess of misery, bad luck, and disorder. (<Nir> = "not," <Rita> = "order, Cosmic law") She is a special protector of the poor and the handicapped, and gives her worshippers powers of witchcraft. She is actually more propitiated than worshipped, and her image is made not of bronze or stone, but of cow dung! A Sage is reputed to have stopped a fight between two sisters, who turned out to be the Goddesses Lakshmi and Jyestha. They asked him to determine which of them was more beautiful. Not wanting to offend either sister, he had them parade back and forth, and determined: "Lakshmi, the younger sister, looks more beautiful when she approaches me, but Jyestha is more beautiful when she is departing from me." -- Len/ Kalipadma On Wed, 1 Jan 2003 07:56:16 +1100 (EST) =?iso-8859-1?q?Kalika=20Putra?= <dakinic_monk writes: > > The Mother Jyestha > > > > She is known such since she is the older sister of gaja or samudra > lakshmi mother; she is the entire opposite of her younger sister. > She lurks in shadows, bestower of misfortunes, causer of fights. > > Her sadhana is always done in a lonely place with offerings of salt > and dried chilly with gingelly seeds.
