OF INDIA Sir I may humbly requst your goodself to give vide publcity for the following event. after necessary editing.Forigners also will be interested to understand the spirituality of olden era of Bharat. Based on the references regarding the scietifical contents in Srimad Bhagavatham Americans are conducting many reserch' The following are very few. 1.Why Bhagavan Lord Krishna says that among flowers I am the thulasi flower. US scientists found out after reserch that thulasi flower can only produce Ozone which acts as a protective cover in the ionosphere and it can also be used for life saving medicines. 2, Also with Banyan tree Among the trees I am the Banyan tree which can prduce maximum oxygen usually seen in almost all temples the air around 5 KMs radious will be purified around a big banyan tree. 3.Fetus (fully developed embryo in the womb) from 7th month onwards can understand and study. For this examples are Prahlada and Abhimanue who got knowledge when they were 7 months old in the womb. 4. One Homan was being conducted in a family at Bhopal when the union Carbide Gas accident took place. The whole members of the family were safe eventhough it was near the factory since smoke emenated from the Homam neutralised the effect of gas. Such so many scientifical aspects are beind revealed after reserch and study in America and Europe. Sri. R.Ramachandran Nair IAS Retd Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Kerala is the chairman and Dr.M.Sambasivan the famous neuro surgeon is the vice-chairman for this grand function and so many eminent personalities are the office bearers. Yours faithfully s/d M. P.Bhattathiry SRIMAD BHAGAVATHA SATHRAM The 20th All-India Sreemad Bhagavatha Sathram will be held at the Puthericandam maidan in front of the Pashvangadi Ganapathi and Sri PadmanabhaSwamy Temples in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from December 22 to 29.Smt. P.V. Santha Devi, chairperson, and Smt P. Suseela Devi, said that convener of the Sathra Mathrusamithy that sanyasins, `Bhagavatha' acharyas and scholars from all over the country would participate. Tens of thousands of devotees were also expected to participate in the week-long religious event. They said that the `sathram' was organised first during the initial days of `Kaliyuga', roughly 5,000 years ago, as a divine weapon to rid the world of the evils of `Kali'. It was revived in the late seventies as an annual celebration of the `namajapa yagnas' which used to be held once a month by turn in the `illams' of Malayali brahmins of the Karukidam, Meenachal and Ramapuram in Kottayam. Kerala How Srimad Bhagavatham originated ?. Bhagavan Sri Krishna advised Sri Brahma the creator of the world living and nonliving beings as follows known as ..CHATHUSLOKI BHAGAVATHAM. O my Lord, the unborn, You have shaken hands with me just as a friend does with a friend [as if equal in position]. I shall be engaged in the creation of different types of living entities, and I shall be occupied in Your service. I shall have no perturbation, but I pray that all this may not give rise to pride, as if I were the Supreme. The Personality of Godhead said: Knowledge about Me as described in the scriptures is very confidential, and it has to be realized in conjunction with devotional service. The necessary paraphernalia for that process is being explained by Me. You may take it up carefully. All of Me, namely My actual eternal form and My transcendental existence, color, qualities and activities-let all be awakened within you by factual realization, out of My causeless mercy. Brahmâ, it is I, the Personality of Godhead, who was existing before the creation, when there was nothing but Myself. Nor was there the material nature, the cause of this creation. That which you see now is also I, the Personality of Godhead, and after annihilation what remains will also be I, the Personality of Godhead. ..O Brahmâ, whatever appears to be of any value, if it is without relation to Me, has no reality. Know it as My illusory energy, that reflection which appears to be in darkness. ..O Brahmâ, please know that the universal elements enter into the cosmos and at the same time do not enter into the cosmos; similarly, I Myself also exist within everything created, and at the same time I am outside of everything. A person who is searching after the Supreme Absolute Truth, the Personality of Godhead, most certainly search for it up to this, in all circumstances, in all space and time, and both directly and indirectly. After getting these advises Brahma advised Narada with more commentry and Sri Narada advised Sri Veda Vysa who is found to be gloomy even after written all the Vedas ,Puranas, Epics, and so many other scriptures, to write a book with spirituality and materialism combined together giving more importance to the philosophy, stories and devotional songs relating to Lord Krishna. Accordingly He wrote this book relates the story of the Lord and His Incarnations since the earliest records of the vedic history. It is verily the Krishna himself ( Krishnathu Bhagavan Swayam). It has 18.000 verses and consists of 12 subsections also called canto's. These sections tell the complete history of the vedic culture with the essence of all its classical stories called purâna's and includes the cream of the vedic knowledge compiled from all the literatures as well as the story of the life of Lord Krishna in full (canto 10). It tells about His birth, His youth, all His wonderful proofs of His divine nature and the superhuman feats of defeating all kind of demons up to the great Mahabharat war at Kuruksetra incarnation in the Human form of Lord Vishnu [the name for the transcendental form of Lord Krishna] which has got a message, the daring task of enlightening the materialist westerners as well as the advanced philosophers and theologians, in order to help them to overcome the perils and loneliness of impersonalism and the philosophy of emptiness. He taught his son Sri .Suka and He advised to Sri Parikshit Maharaja (one of the grandsons of Sri Krishna ) who knew that he will die within seven days and what best to do in this period is to hear Srimad Bhagavatham with fasting.Sri Suka preached Srimad Bhagavatham to the king and he is freed from the death of fear. Thus the seven days Sapthaham started. This Sathram is a modified one in which various Acharyas will give preaching emphasising the philosophy, history, and scientifical aspects in series. The main advantage for the audiance is that they can hear the best part from each Acharyas. The first Sathram was conducted in Kuichithanam Devi Temple near Kottayam, kerala from 23rd August to 28 th august 1983 with blessings of Sri Guruvayoorappan the deity is brought from Guruvayoor after conducting Puja in the temple by the Thanthri Sri Chennas Nampoothiripad. The main force behind this venture was Sri Madasseri Vasudevan Namboothiri who was the soul and spirit. The main Acharyas were Sri Vaisravanath Raman Nmboothiri, Sri Anjam Madhavan Nampoothiri, Sri. Ottur Unni Nampoothiri, Sri Malliyur Sankaran Nampoothiri, Swami Guruvayoorappa Das, Venmany Nampoothiri, Sri Vengeri Nampoothiri,Sri, Mulavana Maheswaran Bhattathiri.etc.Sathram started with Ganapathy Homam by Soorya kalady Bhattathiri. This attempt was a grand success with the blessings of Lord Guruvayoorappan. After that it is being conducted every year at different places in Kerala and it has got an All India attraction and Acharyas from different parts of India will attend this function. In this year a committe is formed. Sri. R.Ramachandra Nair IAS (Retd. Chief Secretary, Kerala Govt.). Chairman Dr. M. Sambasivan (the famous neuro surgeon Retd from Medical College). Vice Chairman Sri. A.P.Harikumar. Gen. Convenor Sri. K. neelakantaru. Treasurer Let us pray toLord Ganesha, Lord JAGANNATHA, Lord BALAJI Venkteswara, Lord Guruvayoorapan and Lord Badarinath to bless this and make it a grand success
