  1. After I came across to this Krishna consciousness movement, I am more calm, more happy, more good, more kind and more generous. I am not killing bugs at sight and I have stopped arguing with people and started loving people more unconditionally. I don't think this is a satanic cult for me... but another way to praise the glory of God and to see God in all. Moreover, The only thing I have to fight now is my ego... which is possible. Please , feel free to learn more about this movement, it will change your life /images/graemlins/smile.gif Thank you .
  2. But that was so long ago... /images/graemlins/smile.gif They still happen today right? They used to be our excuses for not doing homework /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  3. Or you can call them "Multiverses" The point is... even scientists today don't agree that Big bang has created this universe. It is a theory ... a theory based on mental speculation. HOwever, it is possible that there were many big bangs... which created this universe..

  5. Why are you saying to people that the world is going to come to an end and they should worry about it? Why are you so obsessed with the end of this world? sorry for being so straight Why are you trying to save here? and what are you trying to save? Jesus will save... but what will he save?
  6. "the form of my computer or the shape of my car is not krsna" Yes they are krishna. Krishna is the most highest thing among everything, the middle, and the most lowest. Just like he is the beginning, the middle and the end. Krishna is everything. He is everywhere and he is the one who controls everything. He did make laws like the law of Karma, but He is the one who exempts you from that law. He is in my computer, my words and in me... Just like he is in your computer, in your words and in you. He is in your best thoughts and he is in your worst thoughts... There he is! For more information, please read Bhagavath Gita and Bhagavatham. To see Krishna in everything is not bad, it is actually an act of bliss. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I salute to the Krishna who resides in you! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  7. My parents have a special swing which they place on the altor on the Janmastami then they read all those mantras.. but the puja is usually conducted in the evening. Then they bring us in and make us read "Krishnam Vande Jagad Gurum" it is about 20 or 30 lines more ... all the kids read it with the parents. Then, every one sings a song or two about Venkateshwara/Narayana/krishna ... then we have prasadam and thirtam and people also give mangalaharathi to Krishna. After that, we have a huge dinner which was offered to God... The whole thing is very ceremonial. In India, my Grandmother used to paint little foot prints coming from all the way outside into the house. The foot prints were supposed to be baby krishna's foot prints. It is a big ceremony and there would be alot of items prepared for it.
  8. KC people /Basic Hinduism... believes in one God. but then you might ask, who are all these other gods? The answer would be : Krishna can be worshipped in any form, because all forms are his. However, the worship has to have devotion. The basic point of worship is love toward God, which after gaining, there is no need of worship through the "disciplinary" means. Anyway, Krishna is the only master of this and many other universes.
  9. He never left! /images/graemlins/smile.gif It is kind of funny in a way. "Please pardon my crankiness. I just get really tired of his hijacking threads and spamming us with his rants." I think, he thought that with his leaving... his extremely impractical thoughts would be taken with more importance. But , I guess that failed! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
  10. We got the power back after 11 hours... the rest of the city has no power though... Manhattan... The funny thing is, the CNN people are basically broadcasting news from the streets /images/graemlins/smile.gif but I heard that this is the largest power black out in the history. It was scary though , because we usually have alot of cars and much noise where I live. but after the power was gone... there were more people appearing in the streets than the cars. And Vets highway was completely empty /images/graemlins/shocked.gif
  11. He left for a while, then he came back, he is not dishonest. The fact is, it happens to many... I have the same problem... I try to not get attached to the things I do, but I get attached to them. I wish to stop my over attending in this forum too, but I can't... because once in a while i see a spiritual topic that interests me. Same thing here, he came back because he is attached to his ideals and his explanations. he truly believes that the things said by him here are right. I don't think he is dishonest at all /images/graemlins/smile.gif ...
  12. What are they teaching us in schools! There is gravity everywhere in this universe... how do you pretend that it does not exist? But isn't it true that some forces hold the particles together.. like the strong force which over comes gravity. Or are you saying that the strong force and the rest of the forces that they teach us in schools are basically imaginary?
  13. Actually, his own grandson whose name is also Charles Darwin wrote a book disproving the evolutionary theory. In reality, the Evolutionary theory is not all wrong, Charles Darwin is right up to the point that we need evolution to advance. That is true, but to say that one thing comes after another is wrong. He explained it wrong, but the basic idea is true. A swami explained it to a bunch of doctors at a party I went to... He said that evolution is not all wrong... we need evolution and evolution has made us come to this, but to say that one thing never existed is wrong. In other words, what he says is that the plant already exists in the seed. The seed does not become the plant. It made all the doctors and the people in the party to think about this seriously and every one applauded him even after he left the party. They never expected a sanyasi to explain such a complex theory... and defeat darwin like that.
  14. Hey! I love your post here, because the later posts replying this post show many similarities between Gita and Bible. It is no suprise really, because the truth is the one reality, but still it is good to read such things. Thank you people May God have mercy on your souls /images/graemlins/smile.gif - not supposed to sound negative.
  15. If a person is born, he will die. It is a fact and krishna does not go against that unless he wants to go againts that. Another reason would be , their karma ended their lives and krishna basically saved them... who are the souls from karma.
  16. The Poster "Mehdi" never talked about Muslim invasions and Muslim atrocities or Hindu atrocities. If you raise such issues now here, the basic reaction from a commoner(like me) and also an intellectual (like any one else here , including yourself) would be negative. It is better for us to forget the past and concentrate on the present. If we wish to find the answers to our life's problems or things that happened in the past , it is better to develop equanmity and unconditional global consciousness centered on the one reality. Oh yea, Mehdi is a hindi word too, it is used for a paste which is put on the hand and comes in various designs.
  17. Salam alekum... /images/graemlins/smile.gif and Welcome, I hope our differences show the similarities with in us. Hare Krishna basically means this... Krishna= The supreme lord of everything. Everything would be not just this universe but many universes in this realm and other realms. Krishna also means the one who is made of love, full of bliss, full of opulence and contains all qualities. Hare= The supreme pleasure potency of the lord. There is a deeper meaning behind this saying: You see, we are also a type of "energy" of the lord, this energy is the marginal energy which consists of living entities - all the living beings. There is also one more energy of the Lord : This material world which is - everything that you see around you, even your body and this universe is the "Material energy" of the Lord. So, when the sparks of life (living entities) come in contact with the material energy(which is a lower form of energy) we suffer. You can see the cases of suffering all around us. Many people today are starving, living in hate, living in ignorance or they are just unhappy with their lives. Also we are affected by diseases and other miseries. So, what we need to do, is associate with the higher energy of the lord which is the spiritual energy of the lord- so that we can realize who we really are. So, we call out for "Hare" the spiritual energy in order to reach our supreme lord. -------------------------- So when you say "Hare krishna", it means that you are crying out for Allah/Krishna- just like a little baby who is crying for its mother.
  18. They might be basic "trash" but are not about sex.

  20. I read that the modern day science is looking into Quantum Physics for the knowledge of the basic underlying network that maintains the universe. If you know anything about this, could you kindly answer me what "String theory" is?
  21. Have to see the manual for my Hyundai accent car, Mr Grazinski gave me an idea /images/graemlins/wink.gif
  22. I fixed it myself, thank you! You can delete the post "Oh no" on this thread.

  24. I have only gone once to an Iskon temple, which was a good experience by the way, but what sort of touching are you talking about? A simple tap on the shoulder to make some one turn is not a sexual touch. A lustful touch is quite different.. I understand that being too free would take some people's minds away from Radha Krishna but being too strict with ridiculous rules would also take people away from Radha-Krishna. --------------------- However, if there is a lot of sexual touching going on, then wouldn't that mean that temples are not really devotee places anymore?
