doesn't any of the devotee's know the philosophy here? in 15 threads nobody has mentioned that: the three energies of the lord are, the superior energy of the lord the inferior energy of the lord and the marginal energy of the lord the superior energy of the lord is the spiritual energy consisting of the spiritual sky and planets, the inferior energy of the lord is the material energy and consists of the material universes, and the marginal energy of the lord is the jiva, the spirit soul. The jiva or the marginal energy of the lord can either be covered by the spiritual energy or the material energy because of the marginal aspect meaning it could go either way depending on our desire. part and parcel means we are the same quality of the lord but in a small quantity, part of the lord, small parcel of the lord.......

BG 16.17: Self-complacent and always impudent, deluded by wealth and false prestige, they sometimes proudly perform sacrifices in name only, without following any rules or regulations. BG 16.18: Bewildered by false ego, strength, pride, lust and anger, the demons become envious of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is situated in their own bodies and in the bodies of others, and blaspheme against the real religion. yes i agree with the guest, good point about being careful which guru you chose as we are in kali yuga and decieving guru's are not uncommon, knowingly or unknowingly, they are definitely everywhere. Thats why i am 100 percent sure to stick with srila prabhupada as a safe bet, but that does not mean you have to agree with everyone within iskcon either just use common sense and discrimination and chose a guru wisely but on the other hand i have also seen people take forever to chose which one that is also not really necessary, we could leave our body's at any time, food for thought... haribol J.S das /images/graemlins/smile.gif

yes parvati we are all learning and it is good to debate with people that can be objective and use common sense in discussions without becoming overly subjective. if you can see your wrong or not wrong but maybe not completely right then it is healthy to ourselves to admit it and learn, thats the meaning of having a guru and giving up speculative pre-concieved idea's about the world we live in. also there is a difference with being liberal because it suits your cause and believing it. if your conservative in your principles or strictly believe in the scripture's but still break the rules we must be honest with ourselves about whats going on. if your being liberal and easy go lucky because it suits you but deep down you know it doesn't feel right then it is best to be honest with yourself. anyway it seems that you are making some spiritual progress as am i (hopefully) and may we keep learning from the all supreme sri krishna. do you chant the hare krishna mantra at all? or maybe your iniated i dont know just asking, good luck......haribol J.S das

sanatana dharma means the eternal occupation for the soul, which is to serve the supreme soul Krishna. so vedic culture is the original culture for human civilisation since the beging of time and is introduced and reintroduced when lost periodically by representitives of krishna to serve in the elevation of the conciousness to support sanatana dharma. now hinduism is kind of hodge podge for lack of a better word as it was something made up by an opposing party to the indians about 1500 years ago on the otherside of a river called the sindu river, thus they were called sindu's which became hindu's at a later date, it's basically just a name for the indian race given some 1500 years ago. so as most religions have a begining and an end so will hinduism but vedic culture will be reintroduced as long as we live thus being eternally the expansion of krishna's rules and regulations to live properly within his creation. A vedic gurukula should represent this not anything else. not that i really know that much more about hinduism within itself i believe there are some differences on who they worship and variations, such as worship to the demigods etc etc.

no you are wrong my friend its not only my opinion but the opinion of vedic culture who was represented by srila prabhupada, "parvati 19". Being a human and having intelligence means we have the ability to discriminate, so killing unecessarily and killing for a reason are two different matters. example, arjuna on the battlefield of kuruksetra as described in the bhagavad gita was faced with the dilenma of killing his family relatives, but krishna asured him of his actions as it was according to religious duties of a ksatrya (warrior class) and would not incure sinful reactions, but if not under religious principles he would definitely go to a hellish region and be punished by the laws of nature and take a lower birth. terminating the baby because of health reasons is a totally different issue altogether, abortion is not about a health issue it is about not wanting the responsibilty that is associated with sex life......... so you cannot say it is ok to kill something unless it is approved by learned persons who know the religious principles governing the material nature, that is why we seek out a spiritual master to teach us, if not then speculate yourself about what is right or wrong and at the end of your life you will know wether or not you did the right thing. srila prabhupada has condenmed abortion and has assured us of sinful reactions of pursuing abortion as an alternative to giving birth and he is the most recent and foremost scholar in the vedic literatures, so parvati if you want to speculate about abortion being acceptable then that is your choice and i am sure there are many women who will support you in this and men too for that matter as it means they can have illicit sex then leave the women with the problem and have an abortion. i guess it comes down to who you chose as your authority!!!!! the spiritual knowledge of abortion as punishable by the laws of nature or the scientist who protest that abortion is ok by rationalizing that the baby has not yet become a living being. we must chose an authority, i chose the supreme personality of godhead sri krishna who do you chose?

yes i agree that times are becoming more and more tense through repercussions of huge karmic proportions as we have credited up quite a debt in the bad karma department, what is it all leading to and yes we all have a small part in that global karma. Many scientist's, prophets, religions, governments and average people around the world believe something is going to happen soon, BIG. It could be sudden climate change, oil shortage, disease (h51n), global recession or monetary collapse, world war 3 and other contributing factors or a combination of any of the above that are predicted to happen shortly, so many options for something to go wrong and so little time. Lucky we have the holy name to chant for some relief of the mental anguish someone could or will recieve if the above happens, we have already seen signs of the above ie. america's war with iraq over oil, signs of desperation that will escorlate with the reduction of global oil as countries scramble and fight over remaining oil depositories, everything we need to survive in current society is based on the necessity of oil. hurricanes in america are picking up the pace and are expected to get worse in the coming years scientists predict. countries are armed with extremely dangerous nuclear weapons today and if they are used @#$!!$##%#!%&^$$@ tensions are building worldwide with terrorist propaganda which generally would mean a coming war???????? The bird flu disease is very nearly our next major threat if it turns nasty and mutates with a human flu strain combines and spreads. so the list goes on, something's gonna happen and probably karmicly over due. what a shame J.S das

hare krishna. i simpathize with your situation and believe it was probably true not because of sentimentality but because of the state of affairs the world is in now because of the leaders and the elite pushing there games on society. we are living in a society with technological advancement which has enabled the animal propensity in us to exploit one another come to new hights, what a shame. this is what society has come to playing stupid pathetic childish games with one another because of no other better engagement, the elite are no better than dogs dressed up posing as the intelligent class, what a shame. what a shame, what a shame, what a shame, we have been reduced to barking like the dog thinking it to be something great, i am powerful like the dog. it is said that respect will be given to someone only with wealth in the age of kali, what a shame. it seems nowaday's the slightest provocation is an excuse to harras one another as what is left to do once your rich and powerful and have all material acquisitions, what else is there to satisfy the senses than to engage the animal propensity in doggish games to get a kick out of life, what a shame, what we have become reduced to, do not feel sorry for yourself as a victim(not saying you are) but feel sorry for the illusioned elite for acting like the dog, how ashamed they should be, but because of pride they never would admit they are like the dog. why do we play games with one another, it is the business of the animals, what a waste of time, it just shows the lack of humanity and intelligence that they possess, thinking themselves to be something great but in reality they are the lowest of the mankind wasting there valuable time as a human in pursuit of animalistic propensity's, what a shame. i believe your cause to be just and probably true as i have also experienced the powers that be in this society of pathetic excuse for humans, what a shame they are leading the rest of human society into the hellish regions of life while making this region also hellish at the same time, what a shame, i have also experienced the elite's games or the government(still can't work out which one or maybe both) through unfortunate circumstances before i was a devotee and new any better and it seems i am still recieving some of my due karma as this has being going on for years now and wonder if it will ever finish, like i said before no better than dogs, no good qualities not even human.
