Dear Embodiments of Love, What is the true MAHA mrityunjaya mantra, and how many OMS are in it? I was told that there were 6 OMS: Om Haum Joom Sah Om bhoo Bhuva Svahah Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam oorvarukam ive bandhanaan Mrityor mukshiya ma amritaat Om svahah bhuvah bhoo OM Sahah Joom Haum OM I was told by someone that we should actually have an OM in front of the Bija Joom as well, that would make it 8 Oms in total: Om Haum OM joom sah.... and end as Sah Joom Om Haum OM. Could someone please clarify as to what is the true version as per the scriptures? Would the effect of the mantra be ruined if we were to add an Om in front of the Mother Goddesses Bijam (Joom)?
