Thank you Linda and TG for your thoughtful and wise sharing on

violence and suffering. Your words were healing and touched me. Thank

you Rita for your kind note as well. They say that the minds of the

sages are like very fine metal. They melt the quickest at the sight

of suffering. It is nice to have the company of such warmth. Thank

you Tony for reminding us that oppression cannot bring good at any

level. It is difficult sometimes to know how to handle oppression. In

India Mahatma Gandhi introduced the non-violent movement and

nonviolent resistance to authority when that authority was not based

in justice. I don't know how well those methods would work today.

Martin Luther King had some success with them in the U.S. perhaps.

One has to opt for the least harmful way out of a bad situation. It

is not easy. Ultimately, one does what one can with faith in divine

providence.

It was nice to hear from you SJSKhalsa. Are you an American Sikh with

3HO? They have done much to popularize Kundalini Yoga. It is

beautiful that your group of 50 people got together and meditated and

chanted and sent healing energies. And yes, I know of all the Sikh

Gurus and know them quite well. We read about them extensively as

childeren in India. I was born in Amritsar, Punjab, the home of

Sikhism. My grandmother (father's mother) was from a Sikh family. My

father and most of his brothers have Singh as part of their name.

Love to all

Namaste All, Harsha,

Ghandi said, I believe, that the non-violent campaign would have only

worked against the British. Perhaps because of over 200 years in

India they absorbed something, eg Theosophical Socy etc, and then of

course there is cricket and not cricket. ha ha ha ha

Om Namah Sivaya Tony.
