Guest guest
Hi Antoine and All... I love this speech! Many think that Mandela originated this speech, but it is actually a part from Marianne Williamson's 1992 book "A Return to Love". The words were written from her interpretation of A Course in Miracles. Love, xxxtg > 1994 Inaugural Speach, Nelson Mandela > > > Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. > > Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. > > It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. > > We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and > fabulous? > > Actually, who are you not to be? > > You are a child of God. > > Your playing small doesn't serve the world. > > There's nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't > feel insecure around you. > > We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. > > It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. > > And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people > permission to do the same. > > As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates > others. > > > Nelson Mandela
Guest guest
1994 Inaugural Speach, Nelson Mandela Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Guest guest
Dear Antoine, At the moment I am working on a case of a Native man which is much like this. And, I had just posted this email I think to another list? Anyway, it is a very beautiful note of Nelson Mandela's, his book is also very beautiful and I can highly recommend it to you. Thank you for posting it, because living well does indeed require courage of the heart, and someone like he, lived in prison to live his beliefs, truly incredible. I hope that none of us, nor anyone I know, is asked to live that much courage. Much Love and Light to you and your wife, Anna Maria
