If there is an interest we will definitely plan to go to RamanaAshramam as a group. The best time to visit south India for westerners especially is in October/November/December as the climate is then very pleasant. Perhaps next year then - - it will give everyone enough time to plan..... Let us see .....I am delighted to hear that others might want to go as well. A few years ago, a friend of mine, a psychologist who teaches Yoga and has a large following suggested we go..I was noncommittal at the time but he wanted to go...he spent a week with Nisgradatta and considers him his guru and has great love for Ramana as well....if destined we will definitely get to go ..... Love to all Harsha >> ... l got a big smile, thinking about about a large delegation from going to lndia. l can't tell if Harshaji is serious about this, tho, cause it sounds like he's putting you guys off with this "next year" crap, ha ha. l always went to lndia (north and south) in January and was there also up till late February and found it quite tolerable climate-wise. You've got a good 3 months to plan this. Go for it. Strike while the iron is hot! Hell, we'll probably all be dead by next year. jerrysan rinpoche

Are you saying you have some interest in going? Please let us know and we will work around your schedule! :-). We can make arrangements for you to be carried like a King, if you wish. We can hire people to carry you up to the Sacred Hill as well! Gloria and Victor are pretty strong. They can take turns! :-). You know Jerrysan, the idea of having a retreat was just an idea before it came into fruition a year or so later at the Zen monastery in Cumberland. Yes, December/January is a good time because most people can take a vacation then and the weather is mild and pleasant in India. Who knows? Anything is possible! Hey, at least, we got you to smile brother. :-). Love to all Harsha

Beyond having to cope with the transportation system, there's the bigger problem of sleeping. To minimize my stomach being severely bloated overnight with gas l have to sleep at about a 40 degree angle. Even with that l can experience what l did last night, when l woke up after a few hours and had so much gas in my stomach that it took an hour to get it out and go back to sleep. l also require a very soft mattress for my back, so l have a special bed here. l don't know how to duplicate this on the road in the US, let alone in lndia! l used to love to go to lndia but always had problems staying healthy there. God knows what it would be like now. l'm glad now that l went when l was able to. l have to confess that if l had my choice of one last trip, it would be Kyoto. l still haven't given up hope on that one........ Send me a postcard. jerrysan
Guest guest
Namaste All, Yes I would like to visit Ramana's old ashram. However due to my high profile and writings in the expose on Sai Baba, I have been informed that this body's safety cannot be guaranteed in India. Some people I know were threatened by the police and had their passports confiscated and had to flee to their embassy in Delhi for new documents. So I will have to take a rain-check until the situation finally changes. It is all according to our destiny it seems and we have little say in it. Glad to be sharing the moment with you all. Love Harsha
