Guest guest
Tony, You call the story about Rose fuzzy because she had a dream. With your permission I want to tell you the following. My very dear friend James was send to Robben Island at the age of seventeen to serve a prison sentence of eleven years. Political prisoners lived in damp cells and where expected to work in the quarries all day. There families where allowed to visit them once a year for a short period of time. Other than that they were cut off from reality and lived at the mercy of their guards. Very soon the monotony, the bad food and the damp conditions got too much for James. His body already weak from torture and the long months in solitary confinement before sentencing gave up. The older men in the quarry looked after him and one of them kept telling him never to let go of his dream for a new South Africa and equality for all. He told James to keep seeing his dreams as being real. This saved James' life and that man was Nelson Mandela. My friend I am also an older person but I do have dreams and I wont forsake them for anything. I live each day to the fullest and in complete awareness. But I'm also thankful for those that made their dreams come true. For Nelson Mandela, for James, for Martin Luther King, Mozart, Beethoven, Van Gogh, Piccasso, MichaelAngelo and so many others. So like Rose, I'll just keep on dreaming without forgetting to live each day to the fullest. Bless you all, Emaho, Jacqui
Guest guest
Namaste Jacqui, I have family contacts with RSA so I understand at this level what you are saying, and I can agree. Unfortunately like my posts on the oppression of the Palestinians it is not usual stuff for Ramana studies. It is all part of samsaric delusion, and unreal. Mandela used a dream to keep him going. Buddhist monks can withstand any kind of torture by putting up with it for a nano second at a time. Living in the now, which is all there is. It is linear thinking that feeds the illusory dream, we cannot do much about what is going to happen but we seem to be able to adjust our attitude to it by going within and living in the moment. Who does this happen to? Even scientifically there is no time as such, everything happens at once. Freewill is only the method our consciousness uses to adjust to the circumstances and gain the karmas therefrom, for it all would have happened anyway, even our decisions are the ones we made already. So it is better to find out who we really are and end all dreams. I understand that in a storm people use what they can but there are spiritual maps written by the masters to lead the way. Hi Jacqui, Some say we are the Sacred Dreaming. Some call it the Dreamtime or Dreamweave. It seems to me to Be the story of Life tasting Itself. Still wholeness (attributeless), differentiates to live as movement dancing (attributes). Are we in essence still & silent? Do we also dance as the movement of life? Could we Be both unmanifest & manifest? Might it all be the same One? Some describe it is a Self referral dance where what we see taste & feel is the Self. Self tasting Self. Unity tasting duality. Duality tasting union. A divine relationship. Some call it the sacred dance & divine romance of Shiva & Shakti. Some call it life, others a play or dream, some others name it illusion. I wonder if some might devalue life through calling it illusion? I hope not because that might be called dualistic. If we can live life as embracement then it may be danced as unity in love. Unity dancing as duality. If lived through fear or judgement, then it is experienced as less than, (not whole). Duality still seeking (none other than Self). We get to play both sides & none! Jacqui I am glad you shared about Rose & your friend dreaming. > The older men in the quarry looked after him and one of them kept > telling him never to let go of his dream for a new South Africa and > equality for all.
