Guest guest
Dear Harsha' At night before I am falling asleep I try to always practice Nama-japa. Sometimes throughout the entire night it seems I am in-between sleep and wakefullness, reminding myself to keep repeating my love for God and Guruji. Yet when morning comes and I know I have not slept I am yet filled with energy and lack of tiredness. Is this due to the practice of Nama-japa that I feel no need for sleep? It seems that throughout the entire day after nights like this that I feel as if I am (how can I put it) in a peace-filled dream-like state. Can this practice be as helpful to my spiritual awareness as I hope it is? After much practice of this, when the nights that I fall right to sleep, I dream of saints and Master. Is this a result of the Nama-japa? In Divine Friendship, Sraddha

Is this a result of the Nama-japa? In Divine Friendship, Sraddha Yes Sraddha. The appearance of saints in dreams is very auspicious and is the result of Japa Yoga (Nama Japa). The recitation of mantras keeps in mind the name and form of the deity in the background. When the mantra sinks into the unconscious, it works powerfully from there. As far as the sleep and food goes, each individual is unique. Do what suits you and what you feel comfortable with. Love to all Harsha
