Guest guest
Dear Colette, Well, as a university professor, his knowledge of literature preceded the experience, so the myth metaphors were really *pre* integrated. It's sort of fun that the elves were dressed in sailor suits. The experience was one of directly experiencing the wonderful freshness and beauty of the "natural" world underlying the "artificial" accidental world of developed civilization. It was a direct communication with creatures of nature--and an amusement that while this wonderful state of being exists, we are all usually immersed in an agonizing, artificial state of being. <colette@b...> Thu Nov 2, 2000 12:09pm [K-list] Re: Mini "Tree" Poll Dear Hillary did your friends find some myth or folktale that helped them to integrate experiencing themselves as tree elves? I want to know of any myths re earth as Mother, birthing nature spirits who care for nature .. I feel our relationship with Nature is important. luv, Col

Hi Hillary, I can relate to communing with Nature As Nature, as more alive than our artificial roles we play. > It was a direct communication with creatures of nature--and an amusement > that while this wonderful state of being exists, we are all usually immersed > in an agonizing, artificial state of being. Yes though I do believe that we are meant to take this journey for the greater evolution of Nature as well. Separateness can feel so much like abandonment .. communing can show us the joy of Being alive. If your friends ever met a folktale or information, that spoke of an underlying unity with Nature as experiential, then I would love to see it.
