A member of my family has been so diagnosed. Please refrain from using

a term that you do not understand. Exaggerated metaphors aside, the

condition has nothing to do with 'split' personalities. It is a rather

frightening condition that causes severe hallucinations.

Thanks Michael for offering this. Mental imbalances and illnesses can be

quite serious for individuals and their families. I had a friend in college

who had been diagnosed with something similar to that and he had to take

medication on a consistent basis, otherwise he could not function. A

physical or mental disability is certainly nothing to be taken lightly or to

be made fun of. I don't think Ivan meant any disrespect but was rather

engaging in some personal and creative writing to express the inherent

conflicts existing in the human condition which all of us are aware of and

face. Ivan's comments were not aimed at any particular individual and were

meant to be self-revelatory. But your point Michael is well taken and we

should use terms carefully, especially those that can be taken the wrong

way. Thanks for pointing this out Michael.

Harsha
