Guest guest
Hi Mark, The issue of mental disease and treatment of such is something that appears on the list with some regularity. I really share with you the thoughts you present here. Including the ones about Michael, Ivan and Harsha. Love, Amanda. As a scientist, you know how difficult it is to differentiate between a disease that may or may not lead to permanent damage / change to neurons in the living brain and the treatment with its often serious side effects that may also cause permanent damage or pathological change. This is a difficult medical, pharmacological and anatomical question that there doesn't seem to be clear answers to yet. I am here by far /not/ suggesting that serious mental disease should go untreated , just pointing out the difficulties in differentiation b/n damage done by the illness and that done by medication to reduce symptoms of the illness. This may be the case also for other diseases than schizophrenia and serious mental disease. >I have seen in the holotropic breathwork I have done >that my own inner healer and the inner healer of others I have sat for >sometimes takes us into "pathological" mind states, which often upon >"re-entry" leaves us more healthy rather than less healthy. >I wish for our >healing professionals the grace to learn how to allow nature's design to >unfold within a loving and safe environment to the extent possible.
