Guest guest
I've appreciated the discussion about awareness .. particularly relative to the senses. I am moved to share an occurance from 11 years ago. After the S.F. earthquake.. it seemed that quakes were also occuring for me, in lucid dreams and in awakening consciousness. For a period of several days, my experience of self was subsumed by an expanding entry into sensory void. One day, while walking to work, I became aware that I had almost no connection left with the body walking. Simply a walking cloud of unknowing... reduced to a single tiny point of light. Having little understanding of what might be going on, I was alarmed. Somehow, I clung to that point for "dear life". I remember hearing the questions.. "what is the point of existence?" And holding that question, a resounding response was known... coming from where? The response was: "The point of existence is to know Self through the senses." Hearing this, the "point" outfolded and awareness opened to the grace of the senses as living pulsation. So, I tend to agree with Wim. And wonder Greg, might not the fullness of awareness through the senses, (when not commodified by the mind), perhaps be the touchpoints in the veil between subject and object... an invitation to the Interval. Jan's words resound strong here. Awareness is the witness of "whatever happens", in "celebration" of Life.
