Guest guest
Gregory Goode [goode] Funny how when people talk about illusion, they always mention yucky stuff like pain and suffering. It seems lots less popular to say that nice things are illusion too, like "sunsets and warm puppies," nice music, a lifelong love affair, a great meditation, and going to heaven. Hey Harsha-ji, what does DHEA do? Love, --Greg Greg-ji, Annette and Jan and perhaps Amanda know more about DHEA and perhaps do other scientists on the lists. From the little I have read on the internet, DHEA is a precursor to testosterone and perhaps growth hormones and may help to heal the body in some ways. My speculation is that it may help to heal from injuries faster. There are testimonials that people in their 60s can become like teenagers after taking it. Of course many consider it total hype and point out that people taking DHEA can lose hair, have liver problems, and perhaps have other side effects and that it is not worth taking. Some body builders and weight lifter take it and it is sold in K-Mart and other stores. Am I right about this guys? Opinions? Side effects? Love Harsha

Typing in "DHEA" in will result in more matches than one can read in a day... All supplements remind me of the popularity of melatonin. Curious about its promised effects, several years ago I bought a bottle as at least, the stuff is supposed to induce almost immediate sleep. But even after eating something like 10 or 20 tablets in one go, nothing happened - not even the slightest trace of sleep ) Since then, I've become rather suspicious about those supplements, especially when having the potential to upset the hormonal balance. I don't think there is anything that can match organically grown, unprocessed food and regular physical exercise Apart from that, those with active K. are likely to have a changed body-chemistry; in my case, there is no doubt about that... And it is a well known fact that exercising regularly gives a boost to the self-healing property of the body. Love, Jan
