Stan and Christina Grof are probably the best known researchers into this phenomena. Also the Kundalini Reasearch Foundation is likely to be helpful. The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi University has also done a lot of research, although most of it does not mention Kundalini by name. For a long time Gene Kieffer and George Thomson were working to get various aspects of the research going, I don't believe it came together. I put Gene on this post so he can share what he knows.
