The Childlike Ego

It is not inconsistent with the view

to look with favor on the childlike ego

which grasps at shiny baubles

to assuage it's bottomless hunger.

One may feed it, in the example one sets,

with love, acceptance, and tolerance,

that it may come to know the value of

wisdom, compassion and temperance.

Or one may challenge it with violent

dissolution, and thereby grant it the

capacity and intent for violence.

It is best to remember that it carries

a treasure that you must have.

It is imprudent however to let it

burn the house down.
