Guest guest
Hi guys, A nice site on Western studies on Tantra is: http://www.colorado.edu/ReligiousStudies/TheStrip/features/thesis/ The animated graphics are stunning and a great example for those, in the process of building or improving a website... An excerpt: As Tantrism postulates a homology between the body and the cosmos, liberation was achieved through a union of these opposites within the body. This corporeal envelopment of the universe was the locus of tantric power. As a result, tantra becomes an 'easy' method because it requires no external consent, grace, or gifts. Through the unification of male and female, sun and moon, ida and pingala, guru and sishya, knower and known, subject and object the world is transcended (link here) and one is returned to the original state of non-duality (advaya) and spontaneity (sahaja). Although the above is contradicting statements like "the Self cannot realize liberation" and "sahaja is factual already", the contradiction is seeming: The excerpt is regarding the transformations of the mortal frame as to express the Inexpressible "as close as possible" - in a sense that the mind-body is both entirely "stripped" from all veiling or "onion peels", yet "fully functional" and is likely to be endowed with a few (unpredictable) features, like for instance boundless energy... Enjoy, Jan
