Guest guest
I sometimes wonder if ( with or without intention) we engender a lack of compassion in others by exhibiting an intense capacity to feel sorry for ourselves, and thereby express the lack of selflessness that is beneficial to our character in acquiring the quality of contentment. On the other hand if we respond to this capacity in others with aggression, or a comforting demeanor that reinforces this capacity and its negative effect, are we not also expressing this same lack of selflessness. Ultimately we are required to discern the difference between imagined and real pain in ourselves, and another, which is fraught with difficulty and best approached from a selfless perspective.
