Guest guest
Hi Gangs, (I can't say that without thinking of Harsha... Gang leeda, I tell ya, and Gloria's his moll...) I just came across a lovely quote from Georges Braque (the painter that played at cubism with Pablo Picasso - I've always loved the way they riffed together...) Anyway, Georges said: "You see, I have made a great discovery: I no longer believe in any thing. Objects don't exist for me except insofar as a relationship exists between them or between them and myself. When one realizes this harmony, one reaches a sort of intellectual non-existence - what I can only describe as a sense of peace - which makes everything possible and right. Life then becomes a perpetual revelation." Love, Mark ps Hey Sahajman, if you are all powerful, maybe you can get Georges to paint a picture for Michael Read's Way Station. I'd do it, but Mommy took away all my cans of spray paint.

I have known Harsha ever since Harsha has known me and lets just say we go way back. Back in Buddha's time Harsha was known as Hari Ram (Hari for short) Buddha visited Hari when Buddha was around 34 and then again after Buddha was enlightened. Buddha asked Hari his opinion of the first noble truth, "There is suffering." Hari said, "for the purpose of teaching one could also say that I appear to be suffering." To this Buddha replied that a location for suffering would be specified or implied in such a statement and this would be logically inconsistent with the doctrine of no-self. Hari then laughed and said to me, "Gautam has a conclusion already in mind and is engaging in reverse engineering for discovering appropriate hypotheses that lead to it! Hari asked me to take Buddha aside and give him the skeleton of the teachings of primal non- centrality. Basically Hari always had a soft spot for Buddha because of Buddha's stance against the caste system and the emphasis on compassion. Well you all know Hari, a little song and a little dance and he is all tears. Sahajman!!
Guest guest
Nice. This story about hypotheses arrived just after I read the following from a book on problem solving for engineers. "To retain a flexibility that permits us to discard an old theory in the face of new evidence, we must have the will to doubt. In a later chapter, we shall use probability theory to show that when a person adheres to a belief, but has no will to doubt, then it is a waste of time to present evidence to reduce the credibility of the belief. People with no will to doubt seldom change their minds." Well, that has nothing to do with Hari, but I'm willing to doubt he will ever be anything but a hoodlum. Man, I never did understand reverse engineering! Love, Mark ps did the skeleton sing as well as dance? pps and was Hari's soft spot because he had just been reborn? sahajman wrote: > , Mark Otter <mark.otter@s...> wrote: > > > Hi Gangs, (I can't say that without thinking of Harsha...
