Can anyone recommend a reputable and knowledgeable person he could talk to, call, or go see about how to deal with the problem? Basically, it's a matter of a huge energy surge during meditation, turning into severe anxiety. He wants not to give up the meditation, but he doesn't know what to do. >> Hello Greg, As someone who's coped with a difficult k process for many years, l strongly feel that your friend should stop doing this meditation. There are so many people, believe me, who would give anything to be able to turn back the clock to where he is now. l doubt if he understands or appreciates the risk involved. As for talking with someone, yes, this is a good idea, and he should postpone any further meditation until he has gotten guidance on this. Why speed down the highway before you know the road? The world of kundalini is the most nebulous l've ever seen. lt's hard to find *experts* who can agree on much, as there are so many different approaches and the process is so unique to each individual. But l think all will agree that it's infinitely preferable to avoid problems than to try to straighten them out once they occur. l know of many like me who, after searching exhaustively, ultimately concluded that no one could help. This may sound lame, but his best bet may be simply to hook up with people online. Thru all the people on k lists and at various websites he could find what resonates for him and be led to the right guidance, which might be better than being referred to a single teacher who may not be right for him. Jill on this list had a very good experience with Anandi Ma, who's in California and does travel east occasionally. But that was a shaktipat experience, and shaktipat may not be what he needs. Here's the url of a website that has valuable info and links to some of the best kundalini resources online -- it's maintained by a friend who's been struggling with k for 30 years. Hope this helps. http://members.tripod.com/~bob-boyd/index-3.html Best of luck to him. jerry

With a little luck and some discrimination, Kundalini itself will show this relationship by itself, make it very obvious for the individual mind. Keeping one's eyes wide open during the house of horrors can be quite important. Love, Amanda.
