Guest guest
Dear Friends, Bapu tried many diets to find the right for him. He tried not using milk and he found that for himself he needed milk and other dairy foods. He found that he needed this kind of protein to keep up his energy level because of his high-level of activity (physical over- extention). He was always on the go and couldn't maintain the high- level of energy needed without milk and eggs. What is right for another may not be adequate for maintaining optimum energy-level for another. So, he incorporated whole goats milk and unfertilized eggs. Swami Sri Yukteshwar said "Give the dog a bone". Each person must find what is right for themselves, and then give it no further thought. Sri Yukteshwarji always advised that one must find a diet suitable for each individual, depending on the state of health and activity involved. He, himself ate primarily raw or steamed vegetables and then gave it not another thought. Although he, himself did not cater to the body, he enjoyed cooking delicacies and special foods for those who came into his life. He lived fully the ideal that "the Guest is God". Yoganandaji behaved in the same manner. No one ever went away without being treated as the highest and most cherished guest. He even spoke of a wandering sadhu at the Kumbha Mela in 1936 who had a tame vegetarian lioness. What we put into our mouths is important in order to purify the temple, but, more importantly is what comes out of the temple that purifies it. What we speak and say to others is more important than what we eat to maintain the temple. I would appreciate any ideas on this subject, if anyone can help me to better express this.
