Guest guest
Well stated Hillary. All these (forceful rushing sensations from the base of spine towards the brain and being temporarily unable to move) are usual symptoms of an awakening Kundalini. It may be a good idea to read some of the Kundalini literature from various traditions. Good diet, some exercise is good. Hatha Yoga and Pranayama is helpful for some, but the intensity should be varied based on age and experience. Sleeping in the daytime or breaking the sleep cycle at night can impact such experiences and increase their frequency. Common sense, good judgment, and preparation is advised. Avoid what feels uncomfortable or painful. Heed the warnings of nature. Natural way is usually gradual and best as it gives the body a chance to adapt to new energies. It felt as though something had moved through my body, a force or spirit. >> Dear Elsbeth, This is absolutely *Classic* K! ) There is really very little you have to do at this point--the energy will do all the work for you, if you let it. It really is intelligent! The main thing to do is to trust that the energy knows what it is doing and surrender to it. After over 4 years I still get these "roaring" energy trains going through my body (not the spine for me) at night--on occasion waking me several times. The roaring has now generally settled down to a gentle rush. These may become blissful for you if you surrender into the energy. The feeling of being paralyzed (catalepsy) is also classic. It may actually feel, at times, as if the gods were making love to you. The feeling of helplessness can be a little scary, but try to relax and go with it. It won't harm you. The spasms are called Kriyas. It is caused by the energy "working" on you--strengthening the body. They cause me to do Yoga asanas at night to keep the spine and whole body limber and flexible. You may find you don't need to meditate as much as you have in the past. Play it by ear. I am somewhat driven by the energy to continue with Hatha Yoga and it seems to keep me balanced (I have never meditated), but some people find that that meditation and other practices fuels the energy too much. Their "purpose" has really been accomplished! ) The main thing is to realize this is an incredibly wonderful force you are experiencing! Enjoy! And this list is full of wonderful people who will help if you have questions. But it seems you are doing everything right so far! ) Love, Hillary -
