Trying it standing might be interesting too, but I recommend the sitting first, as the risk of falling down is less. I've mentioned this a few times on this and NDS, and never gotten any response, but I find yawning to be very powerful in moving energy through my body, ________ Just catching up with some posts Mark, I vaguely remember "yawning" mentioned by Dr. Ramamurti Mishra (later Brahmananda Sarswati) in the context of kundalini awakening in one of his earlier books on pranayama. He was a medical doctor and I recall finding his views on the body's physiology and kundalini interesting. He was a very interesting character. Systematic Yawning can have a powerful effect. One should be cautious, If any such physically based practices lead to headaches. Also, certain topsy turvy yoga postures like headstand are not helpful for people with high blood pressure. These warnings have become common now in most yoga books. There are many experienced yoga teachers here like Linda who can probably say more on these matters.
