Dear Jessie,

Bless you and thank you, and thank those who have contributed through

you. The amount of USD 230 or whatever you mention is not even

peanuts, but not to that 3 people(or whatever number) who will get

the pain-killer injections and whatever else is needed, out of the

purchase from that amount.

I have no energy left to prattle on the various E Groups. If you are moved to do so, please do so.

Sure.It's the age old story of thousands and thousands of lemmings

which the tidehave washed them too much distance offshore and they

are unable to crawlback to the waters of the Ocean, which is life for

them.Walking on the beach you keep throwing one lemming after the

other into theOcean whereas thousands lie in front of you.Overall it

might make no difference, except to that particular lemming whichgot

. If people are made aware of this situation (I was not until you

told me) perhaps you'll be able to rally up some more contributions.

What about Michael's brother (disc jockey in L.a?) getting him to

announce this over the air waves ~ the CURRENT situation, your

efforts and the help needed.

I sent out many, many emails, made phone calls and point blank asked

for donations. But I will tell you that I was moved by the few that

did contribute to YOUR CAUSE.

Another day of exhaustion. A questioning arises at this end. Are you

the sole supporter of these surgeons from Bombay

Not at all.

There are many such initiatives taking place.

and if so, may I ask if there is a substantial amount of money to

support their ongoing efforts

There is, and subtantially more is needed.

or would supporting a Gujarat/Earthquake Relief Fund Organization,

such as Direct Relief (headquarters here in Santa Barbara) or the Red

Cross, Cry, etc. be a better utilization of the money that I have

collected. The Others that I have collected money from, including

myself again, (a small amount ~ $230 US dollars because everyone I

contacted, including these folks) had already contributed ( and some

of my wealthiest clients are the most tight fisted with their money).

Jessie, all rivers flow to the Ocean, at the moment the Ocean of suffering.

All the big Organisations like the ones you mention, are collating

Millions of Dollars of funds and in kind and are currently debating,

as to what is the best way to distribute.You have ridiculous

siutuations with huge warehouses of aid-material, being stock-piled

and lame people sleeping besides road-sides in the open, with not

even a balnket.

An unofficial (and I am quite sure, very true) estimate is that 50% of

the death has taken place are due to this procrastation, this debate

on distribution and search operations.

Rather than rile against such ineptitude, I decided to do something,

in a very limited way, for sure.

I personally contributed to Cry and Direct Relief and am moved and

ready to follow through ~ just wanting this little bit of money to

"get the most bang for it's buck" : ) if you know what I mean? An

American expression!

I'd like to hear your input.

Finally Jessie, you and your clients who have given you the money, or

intend to give you the money, should do what arises in you/them to

do.

If nothing is coming from your side, by this Thursday, I will have to

find something else (around USD 10,000, is the latest requirements),

from somewhere else.
