Oh yeah, when you feel there is energy which is too strong or wrong in any way, it's a good idea to listen to the intuition and not get further involved with it. I see nothing wrong in simply saying" that wasn't anything for me and I'll leave it". >Since then I have fully come to understand that just like electrical force will light a room safely or >cause a fire in the same room through faulty wiring kundalini energy can also run in a negative fashion. That was what hit me when writing the previous post. I do think that energy can be very strong in a person and it can even be possible for this person to perform shakti pat or do other kinds of energy manipulations such as healing (and subconscious emotional manipulation for that matter) while psychological issues still remain. But I also believe that unless these issues have been straightened out and pure awareness being all that is left in the person (the energy having subsided in the spiritual Heart, not the heart chakra), the energy awakening caused may be strong, as you say, light a fire, but it won't be very effective in its process. >Others who have also run into crisis with the teacher all speak of how over the years he lost his heart and >has no compassion for anyone. My theory is that he has not brought the energy back into his heart but the >energy is still strong and still active. Strength does not always equal one pointedness and appropriate direction, my impression is that in some cases, strength actually only means there is little efficiency due to issues as the energy can have diffrent qualities. I also believe that the energy very well has an aspect devoid of passion and compassion (but this doesn't always mean it is right or wrong either). There have been many kundalini gurus who would certainly be considered masters where the energy itself is concerned, but who nevertheless have had major unresolved psychological/ ego issues that have severely polluted their work and relationships. The list would include Muktananda, Gurumayi and Chetananda in the Siddha lineage alone, without getting into Swami Rama, Desai and all the others. l think the consensus would be that the energy was "effective" in these gurus and that most would look to the unresolved ego/psychological issues themselves as the source of their problems. ln the Dharma, jerrysan rinpoche
