Guest guest
The Living Present: NOW is the Time Standing at the crossroads of Time, we must make a firm resolve to do better from day to day.... As there are landmarks on earth, so there are landmarks in Time. The past and future are like sealed books to us: the one is in the limbo of oblivion, while the other is in the womb of uncertainty. It is only the LIVING PRESENT that is ours, and we must make the best use if it, ere it slips away through the fingers and is lost forever. Human birth is a great privilege and offers us a golden opportunity. It is for us to make or mar the same, for it is given to each individual to forge his or her own destiny as best he may. -- Master Kirpal Singh Experience While You Are Alive: Love of the dead does not last, because the dead will not return. But love of the living is in every moment fresher than a bud, both to the inward and the outward eye. Choose the love of that Living One who is everlasting, who offers you the wine that increases life. Do not say, 'We have no entrance to that King.' Dealings with the generous are not difficult. -- Rumi Some persons, relying on the promise of 'tomorrow,' have wandered for years around that door, but 'tomorrow' never comes. -- Rumi My friend, the Sufi is the son of the present moment: to say 'tomorrow' is not our way. -- Rumi, all from, "Rumi Daylight," Shambala Books THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS SAYING 59: CONTEMPLATE THE LIVING ONE: Yeshua said, "Contemplate the Living One as long as you live, otherwise you might die and then try to see the Living One, and you will be unable to see." A Poem of Kabir Found in: "The Kabir Book," By Robert Bly, Beacon Press: Friend, hope for the Guest while you are alive. Jump into experience while you are alive! Think...and think... while you are alive. If you don't break your ropes while you're alive, do you think ghosts will do it after? The idea that the soul will join with the ecstatic just because the body is rotten -- that is all fantasy. What is found now is found then. If you find nothing now, you will simply end up with an apartment in the City of Death. If you make love with the Divine now, in the next life you will have the face of satisfied desire. So plunge into the truth, find out who the Teacher is, Believe in the Great Sound! Kabir says this: When the Guest is being searched for, it is the intensity of the longing for the Guest that does all the work. Look at me, and you will see a slave of that intensity. -- Sant Kabir _________________ To get your own FREE ZDNet Onebox - FREE voicemail, email, and fax, all in one place - sign up today at http://www.zdnetonebox.com

I use to the word "STILL Point" - the ever evolving IS, which is not static, but "still"! According to some physicians, particles move forewards in time, anti-particles move backwards in time; when they meet, dissolution take place, energy is released. And they meet in the NOW. This is AUM. When living in the LIVING Now, the Still Point, we do have two allies when past experiences and thoughts about the future prevents us from beeing free. These two allies are the Attention and the Breath. Thoughts and feelings may come and go... they become released, transformed into living energy. The ever present attention of what's in mind, without prefering one thought or emotion and denying another. Then thoughts and emotions can come and go... the attention and the breath (prana, the life) still is, and allways are. This mental-emotional release is Jnana Yoga - in the LIVING Now. By the way, what do you think Wim Borsboom? In the Diamond Sutra there's a passage which clearly express Jnana Yoga: "Therefore then, Subhûti, the Bodhisattva, the great being, should produce an unsupported thought, i.e. a thought which is nowhere supported, a thought unsupported by sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touchables or mind-objects." (10). This is the attention which is like a mirror - it reflects but doesn't participate in phenomenas.
