The End of the Rope

Dear Wim,

Could you /please/ do an Indian rope trick and have this particular exchange

with Judi about the Rope Ranch and her way of running her list disappear

into thin air from this list ?

It'll just go on and on and is of limited interest here.

This is actually the second time I have had to ask you to take your business

with Judi off list.

I don't want to ask you again.

Love,

Amanda.

Hi Amanda. I am really the guilty party here! I brought up Wim's name in the

first place in response to Judi and got it all started. Wim had been gone

for a while and had probably been spending time with his wife who had been

away for many months engaged in humanitarian work. This is why he did not

respond right away. He was spending time with his beloved.

When Wim came back and saw his name mentioned (by yours truly), he took the

cue and responded to Judi's posts with his characteristically sharp

insights.

In summary, I should be punished and not Wim. I am putting myself on

probation for the next two hours and will not post. Wim is being pardoned

unconditionally. I want to assure everyone that there is no quid-pro-quo

here and neither Wim nor his wife have contributed to my campaign or my

library.

Thank you everyone

Love

Harsha

Dear Harsha,

How absolutely right you are about me and my wife and your ensuing

observations.

None of us have to take any blame though. This is about the real problem

with verbal and written communication. I wanted to show some of that as it

is at the root of the seeming inability of humans to live directly without

being hampered by the indirect usage of language... that Judi so aptly

demonstrates, showing more twists and turns and loops in her strings of

words as misunderstanding carries on and goes through the roof.

Have been doing a lot of intensive work with language (as engrams and

epigrams) with a 'live in' client of mine.

I thought seriously about taking this "rope job" off list; Amanda's

suggestion is not without value. But for the time being I thought it

worthwhile to show where this leads to, also I wanted to show how one so

easily gets at the wrong end of the stick... or rope :-) at the TEOTR

ranch.

Of course the way Jerry would handle this with humour would be more

enjoyable, but we cannot (or don't have to) do that all the time.

Harsha, your inclusion of my name in your initial response to Judi included

good well meant laughter... into which I did not join right away...

I found Judi's response to you about the "our" business unwarranted but

instead of having you respond to it (or indeed ignore it) I took it up for

us, "our" satsangh. This is Satsangh, a being together in which we can

surely unravel some twisted rope....

My God I am as good as Judy in using metaphors, I might just join up with

her again as I think the invitation is still open. Or is it a lasso trick to

rope me in and bring me to the slaughterhouse. Moo, hoo, hahaha.... grinning

really.

Language which almost by definition is an indirect way of communicating

lends itself better to lyrics, songs and poetry (Mace ?) and should in a way

never go without melody, the way Chinmoy speaks or I assume Krishna

exchanged his loving words.

The mudslinging feature of language is hilariously illusive as mud does not

stick to sound....

Love and smiles to you Harsha, Amanda and Judi,

Wim

Well, I'm glad to hear that,

and glad to hear the guilty party has been punished as befits their

trespass.

Justice has been exacted. :)

Love,

Amanda.
