Guest guest
Robert, it is wonderful that you should have mentioned this psalm which to me encompasses the foundations of all spiritual life, whatever the path or religion. Here is the hoary Latin version, which resounded from the altars of Christian monasteries and churches through the centuries, even unto this day. These verses in Gregorian chant set up a deep spiritual vibration. I have this on the first page of my little collection of spiritual counsel, and read it often, to remind myself of the importance of Moral Conduct or Yama, first of Patanjali's eight yogangas. Universal concepts of truth that belong to East and West alike. It ismost difficult to do when that ego keeps popping up in my polishedmemories - "out damn spot... out! Yet, one of my favorite things to do isfind an Eastern concept/term in the Western Bible... heretical perhaps. Bookof Psalms chapter 1, 2 and 3 - "Blessed is the man that walketh not in thecounsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth inthe seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and inhis law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree plantedby the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; hisleaf also will not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Thank you and Love, Robert/joinAll paths go somewhere. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self.
