Guest guest
Hi Bruce, It's a great album, isn't it? Do you know about the Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra album that's a sequel? (obscure, but has its moments too.) I used to do a radio show from midnight to 3am (or later if my partner Jeff and I were in the mood.) We called it Max's Psychedelecatesson for awhile, and then changed the name to Blows Against the Empire. The Starship lineup was quite different from the PERRO, which was most of the San Francisco musical community. I think David Crosby's solo album If Only I Could Remember My Name (another classic) was basically the same bunch of artists. They had the goal for awhile of being a community back up band for solo efforts. (Blows was really a Paul Kantner solo album with them pitching in) Love, Mark

Yes, and compared to it the subsequent Starship-branded stuff is tripe. > Do you know about the Planet Earth Rock > and Roll Orchestra album that's a sequel? (obscure, but has its > moments > too.) The name sounds familiar, but I can't say that I remember hearing the album. > I used to do a radio show from midnight to 3am (or later if > my partner Jeff and I were in the mood.) Yup, very similar roster. > They had the goal for awhile of being a > community back up band for solo efforts.
