Guest guest
we find ourselves in you “…oh Beloved, your faithfulness reaches to the clouds…” -Psalms 36:5 i awoke this morning before the sleepy sun had even started whispering the canticle of dawn to its roar of laughter as the smoke cleared from out my faithless eyes i stood before your altar murmuring to strike a candle, to sing your secret name my beloved surprised by joy i discovered you already inside i realized that true love is like true fire love is fire, fire is love, both having an appetite for themselves you are always here in dumb sleep i thought i had lost you fool that i am, i continue to doubt your fidelity into itself fire draws fire as love draws love into itself you are here within me candling endlessly a blue flame flaming me into cobalt nothingness so that one morning soon i will awake within you i am your dark butterfly a cloud of wings hovering in empty azure skies flirting dangerously higher within your resolute love yet even as i coyly circle you are vaporizing me entirety singe my wings to nothing, beloved make it so that it is you who must dream of me so that it is i who fly within you rather you in me the one awakened blazing the one awakener into one awakening it is not your divine intent that your lover get so lost in loving that we find ourselves in you? mark chrisopher valentine (march 9, 2001)
