Guest guest
l'm badly in need of help from any quarter. l'm currently experiencing a most acute case of gastritis from my energy, and given my inability to take medicines for this condition, l'm really getting worried. The cause of this was a treatment l got 5 days ago from an MD who practices alternative medicine. He seemed uniquely knowledgable about energy and supremely confident he could help my k related problems with my low back, stomach, etc. The treatment consisted primarily of acupuncture, with a little chiro adjustment and energy work thrown in. Not long afterward, my head felt real heavy with energy and my stomach felt off. The head's improved, but the stomach seems to get worse every day. The last 3 nites l've been unable to sleep for more than an hour or two before waking up feeling completely filled with gas. Getting back to sleep is nearly impossible because l have to belch nearly every second to try to get the gas out. lt just goes on like that for hour after hour, with my system pumping gas like crazy while l try to keep up by belching it out. My stomach and entire system are wearing out and l'm becoming weaker and stressed out. Because of k, l've had problems with gas in my stomach for years, but nothing even close to this. Obviously, l'm considering calling this doctor or some other doctor (it doesn't help that this is a weekend) but given that medicines usually make me feel much worse instead of better, l've been holding off, hoping this would ease on its own. l don't know what else to do. So l'm feeling a little desperate. Does anyone know any natural remedy likely to help at all? About the only thing l've been able to take in recent years for gas is a mild antacid (Rolaids), but that's not helping with this at all. Thank You, jerry
Guest guest
Jerry, am so sorry to hear you are in this much distress. Is the usual simethecone for gas one of the medicines that does not work for you? I don't have any personal experience with this problem or the remedies... still these web resources may turn up something that may work. I do find green tea very soothing to my stomach. Have you asked the monks? http://www.mothernature.com/library/centers/digestive/products.asp (things like peppermint tea, quite a few more links to other suggestions, all natural, possibly some you could find in a health food store this weekend) http://www.allhealth.com/conditions/qa/0,4801,131_174047-2,00.html (food related causes, ie.lactase intolerance, etc..recommends lactobacillus, among others) - GCWein1111 (AT) aol (DOT) com Sunday, March 11, 2001 8:52 AM Re: SOS l'm badly in need of help from any quarter. l'm currently experiencing a most acute case of gastritis from my energy, and given my inability to take medicines for this condition, l'm really getting worried. The monks are in Florida. l kinda doubt if they could help anyway, but if l'm not better by next week l'm sure l'll be talking to them about this. Thanx for the web resources -- l'll take a look at them -- and thanx for your concern. l'm praying that tonite will be better. l don't know how much more my system can take. love, jerry
Guest guest
Hi Jerry, Activated charcoal from a drugstore/pharmacy is available over the counter. A natural internal detoxifier from Vegetable carbon. Very good for gas and readily available. I recommend you talk with your practitioner. Energy work, or acupuncture moves chi. Sometimes as it tries to move through blockages, symptoms can temporarily become worse before they become better. This is not abnormal. Your belching & digestive distress is coming from Liver chi stagnation. For immediate help in addition to the charcoal ~ can u go for a walk? Sour foods, such as lemon's/lemon juice & water, grapefruit/juice (fresh of course) are/is very good for what u are experiencing. Also if you can get Swedish Bitters(health food store)is for enhancing digestion. Leafy green foods are very good for the liver. Do you have access to any good digestive enzymes ( for ongoing use)? Can make recommendations if you'd like. Several months ago you had written to Harsha about a similar situation and I had offered to do a reading for you. Am still happy to do that for you if you'd like. (no charge) I could have done so here, as there are things that I am seeing and could give some pointers in regard to your health ~ but would not do that without a person's permission. Be happy to talk with you as I feel I could help to clarify what is going on and to allay any fears. Whatever you decide, I would like to tell you (based on what I'm 'seeing') Being mindful about addressing the situation is appropriate, (a good herbalist/ acupuncturist is a good way to go) but there is no need for worry. [...] Jerry, did you have a long fast yet? Because fasting is what every animal in "free" nature would do. Even a condition of being skinny isn't a counter indication. When the fast is taken to the point that hunger is felt as pain, it is very likely the body has recovered... Kundalini can be interpreted as an act of cleaning and a fast would fit in very well. Apart from that, fasting can be interpreted as an act of giving up "personal" interest of the body, leaving it to itself and having faith that it will recover by itself and give the proper signals when...
