the beloved is like water

“I am poured out like water…”

-Psalms 22:14

the beloved is like water…

look up and she is a pregnant cloud

arising white sheets wafting, swirling and rippling

majestically in dapple tinctured winds and currents

look down and she is a vernal pool

croaking with slimy reptilian fecundity

mating in deep, dark , dank and dense wetness

look into the four horizons and he is restless

cool mountain water approaching,

warm valley river muds retreating

icy brine, a steely sea of resolve

soft velvet, a taunting lagoon of seduction

look into the four horizons and she is stillness

the beloved is like water…

look within

she is a transparent tarn of innocence

silver water darkly mirroring heaven

look without

he is infinite drops of ancient wisdon descending

falling, penetrating and impregnating all of creation

the beloved is not like water, the beloved is water

the beloved is water

water descending and retreating

arising and approaching,

still water still and still water moving

the beloved is not water, the beloved is living water

running water calling and still water listening,

water always moving and always awaiting

the beloved is water beckoning us to come and drink,

and discover that we are not stagnant, but living water

the beloved is and is not living water

the beloved is the living water in us

we are the living water in the beloved

we and the beloved are the living water

blessed are we when we know that we are the living water

oh my beloved, come to me that i might drink from your lips

and so drinking never thirst for your sweet love

again, ever!

my mind runs
