The following is quoted from Shou You Liang's book on Chi Kong

training:

first the warnings:

"it is imperative that you study from a knowledgeable qigong

instructor....however, if problems occur, you will need to know how to

correct it....Daoyin uses the mind and the movements of the body to

lead qi back to the origin."

Then the practice:

"11. Qi Knots in the Dantian

Some people visualize and pay attention to their dantian with too

strong a focus....After training, due to the excessive focus of qi at

the dantian, qi is unable to dissipate. This may cause a swelling of

the abdomen. Serious cases may even cause lower abdominal pain and

digestive problems. TO corrrect the problem associated with qi knots,

the most important emphasis is on relaxation, releasing qi and using

your mind along with hand techniques to lead the qi.

Step 1. If this happens, gently press the middle finger of your right

hand on your dantian. Then use your mind to lead the stagnating qi

down, as you push down with your finger. In a little wihile, you will

feel qi begin to flow down, and you will let out gas. The swelling

of your abdomen will naturally reduce.

Ste 2. If you are unable to correct the problem yourself, another

method will be necessary. Ask someone that can emit qi (your

instructor) to use their thumbs adn index fingers to pull on the

tendons on both sides of your belly button. The instructor can use

his or her qi to lead your qi outward. When you hear sounds from gas

releasing, the swelling in your stomach will reduce and return to

normal."

I send this with no recommendation one way or another (I've never had

your problem, and am not a qi expert) but this man is a wonderful

teacher and human being. I hope this helps. Terry.
