Guest guest
Wonderful quote from Ramana, Vicky: > Mind in purity is the Self. While understanding and grasping this, let us not overlook that contemporary western connotations around 'mind' and 'self' are different from oriental meanings. It is important to realize that *conceptual* mind and *conceptual* self evolve mutually form universal, unconditional love.... in the sense that mind and self are *conceived* by love... Love, again, western and eastern understandings differ. I have a feeling that the western one is a bit more worked out that the oriental... Socrates (etc.) and Jesus (etc.) had a hand in that... This would be worth studying deeply... Love, Wim
Guest guest
>> If you meditate for an hour or two every day you can then carry on with your duties. If you meditate in the right manner then the current of mind induced will continue to flow even in the midst of your work. It is as though there were two ways of expressing the same idea; the same line which you take in meditation will be expressed in your activities...As you go on you will find that your attitude towards people, events and objects gradually changes. Your actions will tend to follow your meditations of their own accord. << Hi Victoria ~ others have thanked you for posting Ramana's own words, and now I add my voice to theirs. Reading what he had to say adds much clarity to what sometimes seems to be confusing or contradictory here in the digest, not to mention out in the world. Shanti ~ Linda Hello all, It is still important to remember, that even words quoted from famous gurus and people, and quotes from renowned books, such as the bible and others, are still words, perceptions, theories, ideas, written and spoken words of humans just like you and I.. If something gives you clarity and peace, then that something works for you.. Yet, what might work for one may not work for another. I do not have a daily schedule of meditation, I do not know mantras, and have never read the book from which Victoria quotes from daily, have never sat and listened to a guru, nor was I raised in any kind of environment that does any of these things, and yet..................the voice of truth still speaks to me.... life, love, truth, bliss, joy, all these things come to the many faces, in many ways.......... one needs not change who they are to hear the voice... one only needs to listen. Lynette, More wisdom in fewer words has seldom been spoken here. If only we could enshrine this over the entrance to satsangh.... Guest guest
Dear Era, At some point the spiritual life becomes a "lonely thing". That is because there is only ONE BEING. When others don't love you, you can always love yourSELF. And as long as you do love yourSELF then the approval of others isn't necessary. michael --- Era <satkarta7 wrote: > I am sort of lonely now banned across > all the nondual forums > > <grin> > > what hurts me that from the meditation > club I got chased away also, a subject > I take very seriously, belive in and > know volumes about by people who don't > meditate > > god knows whats the lesson in this > > heh > > > > Your speech patterns are very charming > (especially when you get > > > mad). Guest guest
Dear Era, all the love to you - please try to understand and to accept the following truth (experienced by myself!) only after being ready to love yourself as "you" are - and not as others want you to be - are you ready for real love, ready for understanding love, ready for loving the real way. Loving yourself is necessary to being able n o t to make a business out of sentimental love... I give you this and you give that... and..... how can you love the Almighty (in whatever form and so on...) if you cant love yourself????? If you are not for yourself who will be? And if not now when? old very very old jewish wisdom so never give up start now being nice to you! All the best from tuscany Michael >Michael Bowes > >To: >Re: Re: meditation >Sun, 16 Nov 2003 08:09:10 -0800 (PST) > >Dear Era, > >At some point the spiritual life becomes a "lonely >thing".
