cool grab bag of associations there is there!) <<

I have mentioned my interest in (if not practice of) shamanism a time

or two in passing. No one else has said anything, so I don't know if

anyone here has any interest or experience in this paradigm. (And

nobody stepped up to the plate on my whistling teakettle tickle...I

was going to award a prize...ahem...) Shamanism has been an important

part of my path and continues to enrich my life powerfully. Anyhow, I

mention it again because of the otter. Perhaps Otter is a Power

Animal for you. : ) I have several Power Animals (magnificent

manifestations of the Divine) and several Animal Friends (this is a

term I have not read "in the literature," but a number of the animals

who come around me have told me explicitly they are "Friends" and not

"Power Animals." I believe what they tell me. One is Bear. The first

time I met Bear was during a kind of pagan/native american drumming

group. He came and rather than being ferocious, he was playful, and

he danced with me. Oh, it was wonderful. I told the group about it

during our sharing, and later a woman came up to me and told me about

a song called "Dancing with Bears." Later she sent me a copy of the

song on a tape. It is a wonderful song. Have you ever traveled with

Otter? Shanti ~ Linda P.S., here is a brief snip of the song:

I went upstairs

in the middle of the night.

I tiptoed in and I

turned on the light,

and to my surprise

there was no one in sight...

my Uncle Walter goes waltzing at night.

He goes wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, waltzing with bears,

raggy bears, shaggy bears,

baggy bears too.

There's nothing on earth

Uncle Walter won't do

so he can go waltzing,

wah, wah, wah waltzing,

so he can go waltzing,

waltzing with bears.

: )

Hi Linda,

>I have mentioned my interest in (if not practice of) shamanism a time or

>two in passing. No one else has said anything, so I don't know if anyone

>here has any interest or experience in this paradigm.

Then I'll tell you that I am a shaman... I follow only my own spiritual

guide... in my teaching I use whatever seems most helpful and useful from

various traditions. Officially I'm both Christian and Buddhist... I've

taught Raja Yoga at a Wiccan/pagan gathering. I find the Tibetan tradition

especially useful... etc., etc.

>Shamanism has been an important part of my path and continues to enrich

>my life powerfully.

Yes, it shows in your choice of a name for your email address... Nierika,

the portal. :)

Love,

Dharma
