Each tree is also infinitely unimportant -- the falling of one tree does not affect the forest. "Myself" or a body/mind -- a tree -- is 'in there' with the other trees, in no specific location. The wheel, as seen from here, is to imagine a tree, "myself," as the center of the forest... without which the forest would collapse. > Joyce: And so you say the same for "Tim"? - yet I sensed a kind of > an apology -like Im not what once I was ,what some one may have > thought when encountering me before so please forget all that etc. The reason I said what I did is I've occasionally encountered people who hold grudges for things I've said in the past. Grudges baffle me completely. But this is unimportant, since we've just met and if you're going to "build a mental image of 'me'" it begins now (I'm not suggesting you will). > Joyce: you mean a glorious moment of mood, a brief burst of > glorious anger, some glorious muddle? Sure, why not? There is always something beyond, sort of watching with tender affection and a sort of humor. > And while you communcicate to others on this list you don't take > words seriously? If the situation calls for words to be 'taken seriously', they'll be taken seriously... but truly, any extended seriousness seems silly. What's there to be serious about? Life is a leela, a play. > Joyce: But not empty for moods and brief bursts of anger? Moods arise. What do you suggest, that they be suppressed? Wherever it is, I suppose :-). Here, you know. Love, Tim
