Guest guest
A good friend and myself had this conversation. Just needed to share for this K-sangha is important - we need fellowship: It does seem that sometimes we continue our pursuit when we are on the wrong path. When a person is journeying along the right path you will find that every step of the way you will find support and help to go further. When you are on the wrong path the signs won't be there for support. Listen to your inner guide and follow. You might meet several people on that road who are going right along to their goal, they may even encourage you. But pay attention to what your inner guide is telling you, not what their guide is telling you. There is not just one path that is right for all, but there is one path that is best for you. You only find it by experimentation, but when you find it you will know it, and the teacher will appear. It will feel right to you. You will have no doubts as to whether you should follow this one, that one, or look for another one, somewhere. The spiritual quest is not some special hobby to be added to your daily routine, or to be engaged in just on Sundays, weekends, special holidays or a couple of retreats a year. The Quest IS YOUR DAILY ROUTINE. It is your moment to moment daily life that is the field or arena for spiritual practice. In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna asks Krishna: "Tell me plain and simple; some say that devotion (bhakti yoga) is the best, others say action (karma yoga) is the best. Which is it?" Krishna replies promptly and simply: "When seen from above, they are one. All paths, no matter how diverse, lead straight to Me." There are some requirements on all paths, namely sincerity of purpose, dedication, perseverance, practice and tolerance. There are some requirements for goal setting: Exactness, preciseness, realistic, believable, measurable, and goals that you are in control of. For example, if I set for myself the goal of changing you, I don't really have control of that goal, do I? If I set for my self the goal of changing myself to suit you, I don't have control of that goal either! You see, don't try to trim yourself to suit everybody, and if you do, you might whittle away some of your best parts, some needed parts. And, don't try to achieve someone else's goal, create your own and stick to them... "PLAN YOUR WORK AND WORK YOUR PLAN"... DECISION, DETERMINATION, PREPARATION, AND ACTION. That is your path, regardless of what name may have been given to it. Love Robert

True. Though we can experience otherwise. Unless food for the head becomes food for the heart it passes right through, unabsorbed.
