The ego is there and kunzhi is there, maybe the most important part to

the ego is that is lives its own life and does not belong to anybody,

including itself. :)

Thank you Amanda =)

The ego can be seen as the collection of thoughts, images, desires and emotions

residing in the mind, the same way dream bodies and dream voices can be seen in

dreams and seen to be separate from the dreaming mind.

The inner dialog, emotions and body consciousness "sits on" or "faces" a base

consciousness which is still and receptive, called the kunzhi in Dzogchen

Buddhism, the Tao in Taoism and Shiva in Kashmir Shaivism. It's the eye which

sees through everything and watches everything at the same time. :)

It's often said that the ego is what separates the self from the Self. Another

way of saying it is the ego is what makes it difficult to see the Self and have

the Self see and reflect on itself. :)

Apart from the base consciousness, there is the active part, called the Te in

taoism and the will of Shiva (not a person but a dynamic/static principle) which

strangely enough is part of the base consciousness but also separate from it.

There is an aspect of it where parts of it needs to be better aligned with the

directness of the active principle, in one way it's the same as having two

planes starting at different locations and one catching up with the other. When

both planes are at the same speed, from a close up it will look as if none of

the planes are moving at all and the energy flow is smooth and direct.

The ego is there and kunzhi is there, maybe the most important part to the ego

is that is lives its own life and does not belong to anybody, including itself.

:)

Love,

Amanda.
