Yes, I considered this option. I rent a large server space with a cgi-bin.. I have scripts that would create email lists.. and I already have a "things to do" list that is 5 times larger than there are moments in a day.. sigh. The big disadvantage in setting up lists on my server, would be in the loss of the promotional network that provides.. but, seems like that is gone, anyhow.
