Guest guest
Dear J.B., Tony, Joyce, Teegee, and Amanda Thank you for your responses to my question re insentience and consciousness. I regret misreading the original posts from Joyce and Amanda, and appreciate your clarifications. I must admit that I am still confused, as I am stuck in precisely the place that the Rinpoche mentioned, and Amanda points out in the latest post, that it is hard for the "active" consciousness to imagine, let alone experience this root consciousness. Indeed, due to the limitations of language, the notion of "consciousness of consciousness" creates the famously troubling regress of consiousnesses, and further, smacks in some sense of very subtle duality. But direct knowledge seems to be the key here, and until you get it, you don't get it. So thanks for your patience. Some day the penny will drop. (Unexpectedly, I assume.) Terry. (P.S. Teegee, $89.99 seems a bargain for "enlightenment")
