Guest guest
A needle that popped into my head when Dan asked for one is called The Vatican Rag. It is a song on an old album up at a family cottage that I have heard - quite funny - terribly irreverent. Don't have the lyrics memorized but I'll have a look for them. Anyone else? I'm feeling playful. It's ragtime jazz and I think it ends with "So get down on your knees and genuflect, genuflect, genuflect" - deals with transsubstantiation and self-flaggelation etc. Maybe I'll post a wave file if I can get my hands on it. It really plays fast and loose (not to mention imo *very* funnily) with some of the most revered images of Roman Catholicism. Probably better suited for NDS. :-) http://come.to/realization http://www.atman.net/realization http://www.users.uniserve.com/~samuel/brucemrg.htm http://www.users.uniserve.com/~samuel/brucsong.htm ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Hope we are not throwing away the really good stuff here. Its not part of the list description but we can be pretty wild and crazy in a nice wholesome family friendly sort of a way. I mean look at Jessica's Chocolate post! Thanks for that Jessica. You really know how to hit below the belt! :-). Love Harsha

It doesn't seem right to go out of our way to avoid making fun of Hindu puja or Tibetan Buddhist chanting while having a laugh over aspects of rituals held utterly sacred and deeply mysterious by hundreds of millions of sincere Christians. There are other lists where just about anything goes, so nothing is really being censored - and one of the risks of trying to avoid hurt feelings is that some of wittiest material doesn't meet the "play nice" criterion. Guest guest
Hi Bruce, >Even the purest >ahimsa exists in the context >of karma -- even harmlessness >entails consequence. There's an interesting thought! Care to elaborate? Love, Dharma
