Guest guest
--- Dear Tony and Gill, do keep in mind that I am a novice here as you read this and understand that i dont mean to cause offense by any thing i am about to say. I was happy when my children were born because i wanted them, i loved them from the moment i considered the idea of having children. In some cultures it is considered the "proper way" to have children to insure the survival of the people. I admit to being selffish in the mere wanting of them, but i love them to distraction and spend as much time as possible ensuring their happiness. One of my children is disabled, she has known more pain than most adults, and more surgeries too. I questioned my motives for wanting them due to what she has had to live with here, but she has never questioned, has never regretted being here, comforts me when i am sad for what she has to do next. She teaches me everyday that things are often not what they appear. She is 9 and has had 6 surgeries so far and will have more. I am not sure i would wish to endure that, but she acts as if it is nothing. She has taught me much about acceptance. And i wouldnt trade her for all the perfect children in the world. Guest guest
Dear Gracie, I have two children, and I have learnt a lot through being a parent, too. My son has an autistic spectrum disorder, so I can understand a little of what you must have gone through with your daughter. (And no, I wouldn't trade him for another child, either!) Don't worry about being a novice... the 'teachers' here need us 'students' to explain things to, otherwise they'll get bored! ;-) gill > --- Dear Tony and Gill, > do keep in mind that I am a novice here as you read this and > understand that i dont mean to cause offense by any thing i am about > to say. > I was happy when my children were born because i wanted them, i loved > them from the moment i considered the idea of having children.
