Gracie Why are people happy about a child?

I know the creation story of turtle island, which is the story of

the creation of the earth and why the turtle is sacred among natives.

I know the story of greed that caused the most beautiful bird

created by Grandfather to become what we now say is ugly, the

vulture.. how he became bald. I know the legend of my people, the

Waccamaw, people of the Fallen star, i know many such legends we are

taught them as children, and hear them repeated at the various

Pow Wows, my children learn them as well. I know that it was said

among the people that there would come a man, with pale skin, and he

would be from grandfather and should be welcomed. Many think that

We, The People, are the so called lost tribe of Isreal. That is

part of why the whites were not set upon immediately when we

discovered them, we mistook them for the one of pale skin sent from

Grandfather. i could tell you any thing you wish to know, i am very

proud of my people. I never hide them.
