Guest guest
--- Dear Tony, I dont recall the question you speak of, but it is no consequence. I am of the people, raised among them, know and love them well. I am comfortable with my knowledge of them, as it comes from experience, direct experience. In this i feel very fortunate, as if for whatever reason, God decided to smile on me at least once in giving me to them. Being a mixed blood, i also had the opportunity to see up close the workings of the "dominant society", as we like to call them, and was less than impressed. There is not the acceptance outside the tribal unit that i always find among Natives. Even Natives of another tribe accept me as a sister as soon as they know i am Waccamaw. My tribal designation affords me the kindness and generosity of all native peoples no matter that their tribal unit is called a different name. You may think what you like of them, I have no quarrel with that.
