If people do not understand the message or ignore it or as in your case reject it . . . You have not effectively communicated. Oh Dear. How to change that? (in fact You are changing it - Yeah!) Hooray! How to communicate in such a way that the message gets through? I am sure you wish to communicate effectively. Can you change your style to be effective? If you listen you get a good idea of what people are hearing. A good communicator listens. Making statements of how something is when others have different views or experience can be improved. How? Look at the two statements one opens communication and one is confrontational: "The world is flat" "I sincerely believe the world is flat - don't you? :-)" :-) See how I ask a question and smile? People will ask for evidence because they want to Not because they should . . . "AM I RIGHT OR WHAT!" or "Do you feel there is something in what I say? :-)" After all because the world IS FLAT does not mean that is an accepted science . . . We live in a more rounded world . . . Now I am no expert on communication I have been thrown off more forums than I care to remember But I am learning . . . Do you wish to learn what I have learnt so far? :-) One of the things I learnt is that if people get angry or annoyed or reject your message then you can choose to change your mode of communication . . . Perhaps others too have tips? Harsha has even been hanging out on Neuro Linguistic Programming forums to hone his skills (just like me). Any tips Harsha? :-) Lobster communication
