Guest guest
The 7 biggest lies 1. there are no others Wrong - without others there wouldn't have been a "you" to call itself "I". 2. when i know "who I am" i will be happy Wrong - you will clearly see what mess was made of life but then you can cope with it 3. when i know "who I am" i can teach that Wrong - a tendency (desire) to teach isn't the same as 'ability'. 4. what i feel as a good path is OK Wrong - a diseased child likes the sweetest medicine best - and refuses a bitter one. Still surprised there are so few jivan muktas? 5. all paths are equally OK Wrong - not knowing "who I am" is a disease, one that can vary between incurable and mild. A path is but the specific medicine having provided a cure for the one teaching it. So no-path is OK <laugh> 6. when knowing "who I am", that opens the road to moksha Wrong - only if apperception comes with an indescribable love for "that", which makes one forget nearest and dearest in a 'party' of love and ecstasy that will "burn itself out". 7. knowing this and more will make happy Wrong - living up to it and more would have made happy. So the thread continues... BTW, no-path = "the art of consistent living" <laugh> Jan
Guest guest
Hi Jan, >5. all paths are equally OK Wrong - not knowing "who I am" is a disease, >one that can vary between incurable and mild. A path is but the specific >medicine having provided a cure for the one teaching it. Probably so... we teach best what we know best. >So no-path is OK <laugh> You have walked your own path... but I wouldn't call it "no-path." However you have come is your path. It's comparable to the guy who says that, when faced with a choice, he doesn't have to make a decision. But choosing not to decide is also making a decision. Of course, your path doesn't have to have a name. I also have walked my own path... but I don't find it sufficiently different from all the known and named paths to want to make up a name for it. )) In all the books, in all the paths, I recognize something. I suppose that after many lifetimes we bring memories from many traditions. And they become part of "my own path." )) Love, Dharma

[...] When mere living 'produces' what the majority of paths doesn't, why insist calling that path? That would make the word 'path' but a synonym of 'individual life'. And nonduality wasn't taught by the aliens - but by people 'living life' <laugh> And even when the aliens would have taught the young human race, who taught them? God? <laugh> Ego-centered intelligent life is self-destructive as can easily be observed - from that perspective alone, nonduality has to be 'built in'. Hence, living 'life properly' is all to bring it out - unless "too late". But since there are no others, who cares? <laugh> Jan
