Sorry to say, but you have not understood or absorbed a word yet of Ramana Maharshi... Repeating his teachings is no more than 'monkey see, monkey do'. It will not lead to 'monkey be'. And why are you "thinking safely"? If you were duped, that happened way before you even had an inkling of realised beings, except for your original self at the moment of you being duped when you were so young. > There are probably only a handful [of realised people] > on the entire planet at one time. Why would that be your concern, and why would you think that you have the privilege and wherewithal to count? You have admitted to err a few times on this. Why would you have it right in this case? Just do not make it a point. YOU are to get with it! Counting yourself in... Forget about the rest... You have a tendency to count yourself out... AND... to set up situations in such a way that you get yourself counted out. > As I said before here and on the K-list you and I are on different paths, Not only would you do well to dismount your hobby horse, you also would do well to get off the path, any path... When seeking has become compulsive, finding will not occur... When the path has become an obsession the final destination will not be recognized... > no point in quoting me oranges when I'm into apples. It does not matter to me, but when you opt for Ramana, then eat, bite, chew, absorb, metabolize, digest fully and eliminate. Give the whole spiritual alimentary tract a good workout. Do you really think you have taken a serious bite out of Ramana yet? Do not say yes too quickly here... As you are worrying about vegetarianism, you are forgetting that you have to eat Ramana alive. Really! Jesus wanted something similar... (Hic est enim corpus meum) Nothing wrong with spiritual cannibalism... It is the more appropriate form of "killing the Buddha when you meet him on the road"... you eat him or her alive... If you wonder what I'm trying to do here... ? I'm actually trying to get you upset... the apple-cart... Not to offend or hurt, but to break something open in you... Allow me a stab or two... open that defence mechanism..., Open your mouth but only to eat me alive... Get upset Tony, but not your usual way... Do something new; no offence, no defence needed, intended or expected, just open up Tony... Ramana's gentleness and my fierceness are neither safe nor dangerous... Check the thickness of your hide though, allow a good scrubbing, you may have developed some spiritual calluses. Love Tony, Wim... (And we know that the two of us mean that.)
