Guest guest
Hi Dharma, your ability to find the right illustrations to make the reader understand your point is truly extraordinary. I noticed this in many of your posts, like the one below, or the one where you wrote about controlling the mind-stuff, when you said that this practice was not about subduing something, any more than we are trying to "subdue" our clumsiness in a gym. This gift not too many have; in my mind, it also makes you a born teacher. Hope you don't mind my remarking on this, but I just had to say it. The only way I can understand this is through the meditation experience I've mentioned... if I notice a cloud of thought-forms around my head, I sweep them up with a hand and throw them away. But this doesn't erase them from my memory banks... it's like throwing away copies. The originals are still in the memory banks... and so I can still think and function in the world with other people.

Thanks, Mike. We all have our natural functions, and one of mine is teaching. It helps to have had small children, who asked the most amazing questions. I always felt I should be able to explain whatever they asked in terms that they could understand. But the second paragraph below is not a metaphor I thought up consciously. It's a real meditation experience... symbolic and metaphoric, of course, like all experience in manifestation. Someone had told me that I knew too much and it was in my way... that I needed to "empty my cup." I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to DO. I thought that even if I could wipe my brain clean, it would NOT be a good thing to do. ) And then in meditation there was this cloud of little things around my head...
